Sephora VIB Rouge Sale Picks

by Cristina

I know I may be annoying with my promoting the Ebates but I’ve saved a good $40 over the past couple of weeks between lululemon uploads, my recent Nike shoe purchase, an eBay purchase so I’m a little excited about it. It would have been more savings but once I forgot to use my ebates link for an eBay purchase and yesterday I used the app to buy a lululemon pop back and I didn’t know there was also an ebates app for my phone like the plug in I use for my computer browser. I’m even more excited about using the ebates for the Sephora VIB Rouge sale that is coming up this Friday November 4th -7th (or November 11- 14th if you are not a Rouge member) and upcoming black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. My goal is to put the savings towards my Christmas shopping.

Anyways, the scoop on the EBATES + VIB Rouge and VIB sale is that if you sign up with my link here and spend $25 at Sephora (and receive your 20% off discount from Sephora) you will then also get a  $10 welcome bonus from ebates!!! I just got an email from ebates letting me know that I should share this bonus with my readers. *You get this $10 welcome bonus when you spend $25 at any store through ebates. This is in addition to the percentage back you will get from ebates which I’m not sure what it’s going to be but I’m guessing it will be 8% back on top of the 20% discount you are already getting from Sephora.

**The Sephora ebates rate will be 4% for the VIB Rouge Sale

Here is my ebates link if you haven’t already signed up:

Ebates Coupons and Cash Back

**I receive a commission with my ebates referrals. This commission is open to anybody that chooses to share ebates with friends and is not exclusive to bloggers. Please see the ebates site to learn about commissions**

This is what I got in the mail from Sephora for the VIB Rouge sale. You get a code to use online, and a card to use in store. Once the sale opens up to VIB members on the 11th, I think you just need to use your sephora card for access.

This is my sephora wish list that has accumulated over two years. Basically, I browse the site and add things that interest me or that I’m curious to try out, or if I try a sample of something and I like it I add the correct color to my wish list. My plan for this VIB sale is to buy my husbands cologne to take advantage of the sale price for him, stock up on my basics like foundation I love, a beauty blender sponge (love), hair product, and I may also do a bit of Christmas shopping. I noticed the other day that my favourite candles by Nest are up so those may make great Christmas presents, as do mini fragrances in purse spray size. I also want to get some of the $25 sets that show up for the sale and for Black Friday. My #1 pick for that is the Darphin set. I tried that skincare when I was in France and really loved it but it’s super pricey here so a $25 set is great.

Are you guys planning on getting anything for the VIB Rouge/VIB sale? If so, what’s on your wish list. What do you recommend?

I’ll be sure to post my final haul once I’ve ordered it on Friday morning. I will probably be staying up late on Thursday to place my order at midnight so I can have my post up for you early in the morning.

im also getting the burberry almond shadow & urban decay concealer!! I will not lie, love your blog but the ebates thing is getting a little spammy in my opinion (just sharing if it's valued as feedback, otherwise totally ignore :))

lol, I do appreciate the feedback. I fully recognize that it has been spammy and I'll knock it off after the holiday shopping period is over, and I'll try to keep it to the bottom of posts though vs. the top.
Because of the specific offer from ebates for my readers for the Sephora sale, my next sephora post on Friday will probably have the link at the top – just fair warning to please ignore that if it bugs you. Business as usual after that one though 😉

I love Sephora VIB sale! I am getting a bunch of my basic skincare and hg makeup items. I used to get a Bunch of the holiday kits for makeup but found that I never reach for them. I use ebates as well! The app is super easy too!

Thats a good tip. Maybe I will only get the Darphin $25 set and ignore the other tempting ones.

Ugh I totally understand when you said you were a little disgusted with yourself when you made rouge in March!!!! Hahah I buy for my parents in my card but we are good for rouge until the end of 2017….. my husband finally asked me how many eye shadow palettes I really needed when I really just do the same eye look. I was like…. oh ya I guess I do just use those same shades! My big vice are foundations…. I've tried almost every single one for oily skin with Med-full coverage. Also, I appreciate you reminding me about ebates! Even though I have their app I still forget to use it! I would have never known that lulu was on ebates if it wasn't for you either.

My shopping cart is huge! I will be using ebates too but last time during the sale it dipped back down to 4% so we will see. Last month of the month before I scored 16%!!!! Happy to hear though that Ebates posts will slow down a bit. Thanks!

Your ebates posts are a bit shady. People don't need to buy anything from Sephora to get the $10 welcome bonus. You get it when you sign up – I know because I got it when I signed up awhile ago. Plus you don't disclose you get $25 when people sign up through your referral link.

LLM, I love your blog! I have always seen you posting you get a "small commission" if people use your referral link. Must admit though, I'm surprised it $25 per person. Personally, I don't think that is "small" considering all your readers – even if only a fraction sign up. Just my 2 cents. This aside, I appreciate all your insights and reviews 🙂

Anon 4:50PM again. Thanks for taking the time to answer to each post – Really stand up of you. Just a suggestion, but maybe change "small commission" to $25/person on your disclaimer so it's super transparent? Perhaps that is what the original poster had had issue with?

I responded to your post but for some reason it hasn't shown up so I'm rewritting. I've added a comment on my post about the commission. For the record, I have mentioned the commission I earn in previous posts but I haven't repeated it in this post or my reminder links on the upload posts.
As far as the $10 sephora welcome bonus, I did not know that. I got my email from ebates this afternoon letting me know that the Sephora sale is coming, and that if people want to sign up for ebates for the sephora sale they get a $10 welcome bonus when they spend $25. I didn't realize that it was a $10 welcome bonus for any purchase at any store that has ebates That's even better. I planned on sharing my sephora wish list anyways and mention the sale (even though I'm not in any way affiliated with Sephora) so the ebates email was a push to hit publish this afternoon and remind readers to take advantage of the ebates for the sale.
The commission structure is for anybody that promotes ebates to friends and family, not just bloggers. The commission structure for the month is on their landing page when you sing up for ebates so it's not a mystery to anybody I hadn't checked to see what this months commission structure was yet.

I appreciate the feedback that the links are coming across as spammy but I hope that my comments here clarify any perceived shadyness. I do use affiliate links on occasion on my blog when it aligns with what I already like and use. It's very occasional and it subsidizes my time spent posting several times a day. I mostly prefer to use passive ads that monetize my blog based on my traffic, vs. commission based earnings.

Lulumum November 3, 2016 - 12:07 am

Hi anon,
No $25 per person is certainly not a small commission. That is a very generous commission by my standards, especially since there is a $10 welcome bonus that also goes to the reader that signs up. You only earn that commission when someone signs up AND THEN uses their ebates on a purchase. I started promoting ebates in the last week or two of September and each month the commission is different. They do bonuses and incentives as well as contests which change over each month. I think the reason ebates commission is high like that is because you can only earn that commission one time from that sign up/person where as other affiliate advertisers give you 2% on a sale that originates from a click on your blog and can be repeated with each click – and it's exclusive to bloggers where as ebates is not.

Reply
Lulumum November 3, 2016 - 12:45 am

I did remove that wording and added in 'please refer to the ebates site for commission information' as it changes each month and is a little more complicated than 1 signup = $25.
If anybody is extremely curious, I've received 3 signups from this post. There is a potential that I will earn $75 on that but only if those sign ups go further and complete a sale that is through the ebates site. if the person forgets and makes a purchase without using ebates, I don't get the commission at all. It is much more profitable to earn a steady commission on your own purchases over time, vs. a one time commission on someone else. Your sign-ups may decide to never use ebates.

If it wasn't for you LLM making me aware of Ebates I wouldn't be receiving the purchase cash backs and referral cash backs I am now getting so THANK YOU. I signed up through your link because I wanted you to get the commission since it was you that brought Ebates to my attention plus why shouldn't someone benefit if there is a benefit to be had!!! I also found your Ebates reminders very useful as a Ebates newbie.

Seeing how expensive all this kind of stuff is makes me feel glad that I don't wear any makeup or use a lot of skin and hair care products. I just use Neutrogena Healthy Skin Booster face wash, Garnier Whole Blends shampoo and conditoner (the honey ones and the avocado ones both work very well for me) and Bath & Body Works shower gels (which I usually always get at buy 3 get 3 sale!) daily, that's it, haha. No makeup and no hair styling products (just let my hair dry naturally), no moisturizer or body lotions (honestly believe skin health and moisture balance comes more from the inside and your health and what you eat is more important than what you put on the outside, in my early 40s and don't feel a need for anything special like eye cream or anything like that). I have tried (a few times over the years) expensive shampoo and conditioner (from hair salon) but they were all super disappointing compared with my usual, so I just stick with those ones I can find at pretty much any store that work well for me. I also really like Aveeno Positively Nourishing Moisturize shampoo and conditioner and Aveeno body washes. I am interested in finding animal and environment friendly (and human, too, haha) alternatives though, as I am sure the ones I use are not the best in that regard, otherwise happy with the stuff I use now. I know Lush is a good alternative and love their bubble bath bars and their soaps as special treats once in a while but haven't tried any of their other products like their face and hair care products. Maybe I'm kind of a hippy at heart, lol, I still have never even once dyed my hair in all these years, and now just starting to get a few greys here and there over past couple years and think I'll just wait and see how long I can go without dying, really don't like the idea of dying it so hopefully I'll be able to "ride it out" and go grey gracefully 🙂 Anyway, thanks for sharing, I still enjoyed reading even though won't be partaking 🙂

If you are into the drugstore makeup, my number one favourite foundation is Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum. It's kinda pricey for drugstore ($28) but it's amazing. I also use cheap shampoo and hair wash and then I buy a good product for styling (Living Proof, Photo), and for face cleanser I really like my $12 Body Shop Chamomile Cleansing Balm (cruelty free).
My wish list is pretty luxy but I just book mark anything that strikes my fancy. What I buy on a regular basis is quite different.

I am also a minimalist but I do not judge anyone for wearing make up or their love of Sephora's endless selection of products – it's hard to keep up, haha. I I have the natural look going as well and only wear make up for special events. The main reason is that I am far to active/hard core to bother with make up day to day (I run, hike, cycle, power yoga and hot yoga, and walk a lot as well). I feel I should make more of a make up effort but I am told I don't need to. I do get my hair highlighted and it is also natural looking. Nutrition and health do primarily come from the inside but if I didn't wear eye cream and use moisturizers, I would just be advance aging myself and actually hurting my skin in worse ways (than not using anything). There is absolutely a purpose to moisturizers and protectants. Whatever people think, a good skin serum is a godsend as it penetrates to the deeper layers of the epidermis. I will spend the money for a great skin serum – currently my favourite is Korres Black Pine anti-wrinkle, firming & lifting serum (I am in my forties). I love their yogurt face wash and some other products. Plus you can get Korres at Shoppers (earning points through all your purchases, even mundane household items, eventually earning items for free), even though Sephora also carries the line. I will say that I am happy not to be sucked in by Sephora although again, they have endless great stuff and the staff are wonderful and so helpful.

Anon 12:52 PM I actually won't touch any of the products you mention, Bath & Body Works in particular. Not body or environmentally friendly in the least, imho. I generally cannot stand the overbearing scent of B&B products. The products I use are cruelty and paraben free. (I do enjoy certain, actual perfume perfumes, but generally not in moisturizers).

Cake Beauty is one of my favourite brands and it is Canadian (paraben free and cruelty free. While their scents are actually wonderful, I use the scent free stuff. I do like their dry shampoos, too. I don't think they have an unscented one though). https://cakebeauty.com/

I also love Earth Science Naturals, also cruely and paraben free http://earthsciencenaturals.com/ and Andalou Naturals, Non-GMO, Cruelty-Free, Gluten-Free, Eco-Friendly, Certified Organic, Fair Trade, Vegetarian, Vegan, and Clinically Proven Ingredients. http://andalou.com/

I don't know about the States, but in Canada you can often find Earth Science and Andalou Naturals in Winners/Marshalls and in Natural Food stores. You can also order from Well.ca (a fantastic site). https://well.ca/

I am also a huge fan of soap by The Soap Works which is widely available (well.ca, natural foods stores, even Shoppers carries it).

Whole Foods has a great skin and body care section for cruelty free, paraben free, natural products etc. And while Whole Foods as a grocery store is expensive (not the way I role day-to-day, lol), this stuff is actually fairly priced.

Aveda is another option and I like a number of their products – their shampoos are worth it. Even a little bottle lasts such a long time.

In Toronto we have a brand of low key spas by "Pure + Simple" (I go there for facials – highly recommend if you have local access) and they also have their own product line. Plus they carry a number of other great options. Too many to list but Holistic Vanity is a wonderful line – pricey but worth it. You can also order online https://www.pureandsimple.ca/

Hope this helps anyone who is interested!

P.S. forgive all my typos.

And for the record LLM, you are very transparent about eBates and how you earn commissions etc. and this is a personal choice for someone to use the links or not, or use eBates or not (I had no clue about eBates until I read your post on it.)

I appreciate the hard work you put into your blog to put up any post and to keep people informed.

Thanks for recommending some things to look into anon 5:24 (from anon 12:52)! Absolutely no judgement from me either, to each their own of course 🙂 The stuff I'm using isn't the best in that regard (environment, human, animal, friendly), I know, which is why I am interested in finding replacements. Have already found some good replacements for regular toothpastes and have been using that for a couple of years. I am willing to pay more for something that I feel is worth it (and my health, cruelty free/animal friendly and environmentally friendly are all worth it) so that isn't an issue, I just needed to find an idea on what would be worth trying and what might work for me. I'm not a brand snob, so that kind of thing means nothing to me. I also don't believe everything that costs more is better (sometimes yes, but not a lot of the time and a lot of the time it is just the brand name that people pay more for). Even if I had boatloads of money to throw away I'm not into spending it on stuff "just because". As for creams, lotions, moisturizers, etc, I've never used them and honestly don't think there is any bad effect from that showing up on my skin (at least not that I'm aware of, haha, I'm in my early 40s), so far feel no need for them personally but that may change, and of course everyone has different needs and those needs can change. To be honest, I don't know if I could handle the feel of something like that on my skin if I had to use it, haha… just really like the feel of clean skin with nothing on it… maybe I'm just weird. Thanks for sharing, it was helpful 🙂

Thanks Lulumum for sharing as well 🙂

As for ebates, I agree with anon 5:34. I had no clue about it either until seeing LLM's first post about it. Personally I have chosen not to use it, but have no issue with LLM posting it for those who choose to, and feel that she has been transparent about earning a commission with it.

Reply
Anonymous November 2, 2016 - 8:11 pm

Personally, I think you have been completely transparent that you get a commission if we use direct links from your blog and who cares if you do. The ebates is getting a little spammy but it's also a nice reminder because I have forgotten to use ebates a bunch.

Reply
Lulumum November 2, 2016 - 8:19 pm

I appreciate that. It didn't occur to me to post a disclaimer on this post and I should have. I do get a bit spammy a few times a year (Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for example) but I assure you all that it is only posted about because as a shopper, I am truly excited about these events and I follow other forums and groups dedicated to these events. I find it extremely hard to use affiliate links on something I'm not already fanatical about which is why you only see commission based links on my blog once in a while (and then overkill during that event). With this ebates commission I should also mention that it is a one time event. I get a commission once for sign up and then not at all for the life of your ebates membership/ebates shopping. I get no kick back for your subsequent purchases through ebates at all ever again.

I am a Sephora junkie. I usually make Rouge by early March every year. If you haven't tried Sunday Riley's Luna Oil (Retinol oil for night), you should. It's fantastic and a cult hit for most people that try it. I'm also making a big Darphin purchase during the sale. I've wandered through various skincare lines and it's recently become my new obsession.. especially the oils. I love facial oils and Darphin really hits it out of the park for me.

I actually signed up for ebates.com through your link a few weeks ago because ebates.ca (which I already use extensively) doesn't have Lululemon on it yet. I've used it for all my Lulu purchases since then. Cheers on making your commission. Your site has been extremely helpful over the years and I probably click on it at least once a day. I have no issue with affiliate links. Enjoy! 🙂

I got that 'aromatic' coupon code sample set of Darphin as well and it sold me on all of those oils. I'm buying a full size chamomile and tangerine during the sale. I debated the 8-flower nectar one but I can't get over the price just yet.

The Sunday Riley Luna Oil smells mostly like a variation of chamomile to me. I really like the scent. I have many other Sunday Riley oils and they are honestly not pleasant scent-wise, but I do like Luna – it's the one exception. I find it quite calming.

I had no idea Shoppers carried Darphin! It might be time to cash in some of those Optimum points! lol

I was shocked and mildly disgusted in myself last year when I made rouge but now I make my husband buy his cologne and toiletries using my card. lol! I've probably texted him 3 times asking him what I can make him purchase at the sale to ensure I get rouge again next year.
I have been very interested in that blue oil buy Sunday Riley since reading about it on Caroline Hiron's blog. Does it smell a bit like fermented black tea?
Darphin is my obsession too lately. I have a shoppers drug mart very near my house and they have just put up a display of Darphin products so I stop in sometimes and 'try out' the oils and the balm. The price is insane for the tiny balm and oils but I really want to get a full sized one soon. I took advantage of the deluxe sample set offer a few weeks ago at Sephora and really love the gel moisturizer. The redness relief serum I got in Paris is my favourite rosacea based skincare product I have ever tried (save for my prescription stuff).

Lulumum November 2, 2016 - 11:30 pm

I think the 8-flower one is the original cult favourite of the brand. Thats the one I sample when I'm in store.
Interesting about the luna oil. I resisted getting it because there where two other products that I sampled that had that pungent tea smell and although I liked the product, I could smell that scent for a good long while. I really like the scent of chamomile though so I will definitely give that one a try.
Would you believe that with how much I shop at Shoppers for odds and ends I have rarely ever used my optimum card? I need to get on that.
Not all shoppers carry the line but i think the bigger stores do. They had the Murale site that carried all the products and shipped for free but that site has recently shut down and they no longer do ecommerce.

Hi! For ebates, if you do not get a chance to link your Lulu purchase first time- Go to ebates app or website go to lulu link. Then after your Lulu purchase go to the help section where is my cash back and fill out an inquiry form so your order is added to your account for the date/tracking ticket ysed. This can be done for any merchant and ebates. I do it all the time! Some vendors do not add the cash back automatically so you need to contact ebates with order slip.

I use an ad blocker when viewing your blog. The ebates thing is ridiculous, you are losing your credibility by plugging this repetedly. Agree that you need to use a disclaimer about the commission you receive. I'm not trying to be rude … just calling it as i see it.

Reply
Anonymous November 3, 2016 - 2:49 am

I personally have no issue with the ebates, ads, and referral links all over your blog. What I do have an issue with is your followers talking trash about other bloggers who monetize their blogs as well. I've seen people comment about this in the past on your posts and throw some serious shade at other bloggers who I guess can be considered your competition. Obviously this is not your fault but it's quite interesting to me. Also, I wonder if you would've ever known about ebates until that one girl posted on lulu chat about it when it first started.

Reply
Lulumum November 2, 2016 - 11:27 pm

I support your use of ad blocker if you begrudge bloggers earning income. It's a very effective way to minimize your contribution. What I don't understand is your concern over my credibility in general, or how others beyond yourself perceive my posts. I have used a disclaimer on all of my original ebates posts except for the link on upload posts, and I didn't use one in this post. The commission is visible to anybody that decides to use my link to sign up for ebates so it's really not a surprise, or misleading as you are confronted with the fact of the commission as soon as you go to the ebates page and sign up, and have the ability to receive the same commission yourself. . The information about commission is plainly visible to anybody that takes a cursory look at the ebates site prior to signing up – it's not hidden or on a back end blogger platform only accessible to bloggers.

Reply
Lulumum November 3, 2016 - 12:12 am

I think credibility is lost when someone posts or promotes a product they don't believe in or use, or care about. I think it's fair to earn commission on something you are passionately promoting because you love the product/company/sale and you want to share that with our readers, especially if you would do it with or without commission. I'd still be telling you to use ebates even if I didn't earn a commission because using it myself saves me money.
Here is the type of advertising offers I receive daily in my inbox "Regain Your Confidence with Poise Impressa!". The day you see me start promoting things like this, you can know I've lost credibility and discretion.

Yes I have seen the shade thrown. I've also experienced shade thrown at me on competitors blog without any intervention or deescalation, but with elaborate conversations. I don't care for it either way but as I'm not moderating comments, including the ones that are shading me, I'm not stepping in to those particular discussions. You can carry on but I don't care for it.

As for the birthday of my joining ebates, it was sometime back in 2013 when a Lulu This Just In member told me about it (Cheryl L. if you are an old timer). I signed up under her but hadn't really used it. She had some really amazing shopping tips she shared with me over the years. Sometime last year lululemon was momentarily on ebates on both the US and Canadian site but after a month or two (I briefly mentioned it then) but they shut it down. When they started it back up again in September, it was reported across several Facebook groups. I don't happen to be a member of Lulu Chat but I did see it on A Team, Lulu Lounge and one of the other selling based chat groups. So yes my attention was drawn to it by someone else in the community this time around.

I feel like some of these anon comments (and on other posts) have an axe to grind with me so forgive me for coming across as snarky back but I'm really just not interested in this lulu world competition. I've been here since the beginning of the groups and I'm happy in my small corner of the internet.

Honestly, a lot of people reading this blog are kind of ignorant if they think they're reading something online that hasn't been monetized at this point. Like, it would almost be cute if these people weren't adults. And just own your comments instead of this "I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just being honest" BS! Childish.

Long-time reader- I too don't understand why everyone is getting all worked up about the ebates thing. It is very clear how it all works if you go to ebates. I hope none of you people who are complaining ever click thru links on some other blogs. They use dozens of Rstyle etc links regularly without fully disclosing how that shady program works. By using ebates you give yourself a (smaller) commission instead.

ETA: just to clarify by you give yourself a commission I mean you as in the reader not you as in Lulumum – it's much more beneficial to the buyer than to anyone making a referral.

My affiliate/commision earning links are Nordstrom posts (1-3 times per year), Carbon38 and Ebates. The rest are impression based earnings with no commissions. I don't use native ads or product placements.

Really? What about all those shopstyle affiliate links all over your lululemon links?

LLM, nothing wrong with monetizing your blog. If you have a blog, I think everyone should do it! But don't pretend like you're better than any other blog that does the same. Some people were bothered by you pushing ebates because you weren't very transparent at the beginning. I know all about ebates and it rubbed me the wrong way but did not say anything until now. I'm glad you clarified it for your readers, even if it was after you were called out in the comments.

Please re read my above comment about impressions based earnings vs. commission based earnings. I have informed you that I monetize my blog – that is the entirety of my obligation to you. I have gone well above and beyond my obligation to you to explain the minutia of blog monetization.

I see. You are attributing comments made about other bloggers, by other people to me. Does that seem fair to you? I really wonder what your vendetta is with me and why you are so invested in tearing me down.
I have never taken issue with any blogger monetizing their blog. It has no effect on me whatsoever what method another blogger uses to monetize. Another blogger earning an income in no way decrease my earnings. I've been grilled here about MY monetization so I have offered a more than detailed explanation and I feel rather stupid for even indulging the conversation. You are accusing me of earning a commission on ads (as if that is wrong or terrible) and I've simply clarified to you that the vast majority of my monetization comes from impression based earnings and not commission based earnings. You are grasping at straws trying to find a way to nail me for monetizing as if you have an axe to grind with me over it and you are baiting and instigating drama between bloggers for your own enjoyment.

As for the ebates, I've now stated repeatedly that I have informed readers of commission on sign ups on all the original posts about it. I did not post it on this post initially. Regardless of that, the commission transparency is there when the reader clicks on the ebates link and can fully see the commission available to anybody that refers it. To what end are your comments? Do you think whatever other blogger you are referring to appreciates this? I really don't believe she does. Although i want to love the huge bump in traffic your drama has brought this post, I find it really tiresome. Why don't you message me if you sincerely have these issues with me? I'm finding it really hard to take your comments sincerely as they are coming across as bait.

You've been completely up front about ebates commission and it is clearly stated on ebates website. You deserve the commission-it's your blog and you put a ton of work and time into it. People are just jealous. I like the ebates updates. Thanks for all you do!!!

I wanted to add that I have no received my VIB Rouge sale card yet. So, I'm glad you posted your card so I can least use the code online (I've been working on my cart for a few weeks). I would hope the store would honor the discount for me since they can look up my status.

Hi Cristina…where do you buy your Bourjois foundation from? I'm in Canada too and would LOVE to try it. Thanks 🙂

Thanks so much!! We gave a nice Shoppers in my city so I'm totally checking this stuff out. I love your blog and your beauty recommendations. I bought the Biologique p50 lotion that you had mentioned after you got back from France and love it.

I buy it at Shoppers Drug Mart but for American's or Canadians with no Shoppers, you can also find it on Asos.com and I think a few other sites. The foundation is so fantastic, it used to be owned by Chanel and created in the same factory that creates Chanel makeup so many of the formulas are extremely similar. Coti recently purchased it. Chanel didn't like having a known high street brand under it's umbrella.

quick question : a couple weeks ago I signed up on ebates.com (although I am in Canada I used the US version of the site because I wanted to have access to lululemon). I purchased something for $29. I received an email that they sent me a cheque for 8%. but for some reason I did not receive the $10 bonus (for making a purchase over $25). does anyone know why not? is it because I am in Canada, or because I purchased from the Canadian Lululemon? I am confused because they did issue a cheque for 8%…

Email Ebates. They're pretty responsive about questions.

thanks! I actually figured what the problem is. I spent $29CAD (which is only $21.90USD!) so this means I still have to purchase a little more in order to reach the $25.00USD.

replying to @8:46 (reply link didn't work): when i signed up for ebates about a year the $10 sign up bonus was in the form of a gift card. during the sign up process when i entered my info, i had to choose what gift card i wanted (they were all useful choices like amazon, target, etc.). it then arrived in the mail about a week later (as an actual gift card, not an online code). the check they typically send quarterly, so eg, i signed up last black friday and my first check came in february and was the total of all the money i got cash back on during the fall quarter. it seems weird they would have sent you a check already. they are pretty responsive if you email their customer service. maybe just ask them…. they will also often have responses like "you didn't qualify for the $10 bonus for X reason, but as a courtesy we will give it to you anyway… here you go!" (never hurts to ask in my experience) 🙂

I love that you promote the ebates! Honestly I had never looked into it but after you mentioned it I signed up last night from your link and got money back on my Lulu purchase! I get money for shopping, you get money for writing such an awesome blog and putting so much time into this! Everyone wins!

Lulumum, I get just as excited as you about e-bates! I had signed up >2 years ago at my friend's urging. However, I thought it was a "scam." didn't cash out the $10 bonus. I forgot about it until you posted that Lululemon is participating. Since then, I've accumulated a lot from Lulu & other vendors. I would have forgotten to keep on using e-bates but you have reminded us (in a nice way).

So thank you! You are spreading the wealth:o)

Yay!!! I am so happy you are getting cash back! By the way, if you are shopping the sephora sale I just found out the cash back will be 4%. Ulta is doing a double cash back for black Friday.

I didn't read this whole thing, but if you are reading someone's blog for info, why would you not want to give them a commission? Who cares? It's not hurting you or others, just helping someone out, who, frankly has been great about getting us timely information and even going to stores to give fit reviews.

One thin, Lulumum, can you link to the exact product when we click? That would be more helpful.

I will probably sign up with ebates…I have not gone to the site, yet, but if it gives someone else money that is doing me a service…sure!!

@aliswanson – you took the words out of my mouth….what the heck is wrong with people these days?? If you're so offended by anything on this blog, don't read it anymore. Vote with your browser and stop coming to the very place that offended you in the first place to bitch about it.

Do you mean the image links? yes! On upload days and after the upload I'm able to link directly to the specific item but before it's been uploaded to the website I can only link to the what's new landing page, or the product category page. IF there are a few different items in one image, the product link has to be for one of those items but I can use specific links for the titles of each item if that is helpful. Thanks for the feedback!

You deserve some money for working so hard on this blog. It's not like you are earning millions from the website.
