Fit Review: Sunset Savasana Pullover

I had a reader on Twitter request a fit review of the Sunset Savasana Pullover and since my store never got it in this pretty Minkberry I opted to order it online to check the color out as well as do a fit review. Online the Minkberry looks a little bit washed out and flat but in person it's much richer than expected and very flattering on. I was sure I wouldn't like this sweater in person but actually I like it quite a lot, even from the front.  I really like how it is swingy in the front and a bit oversized and long and in the back it has the feminine scoop at the neckline and exposed back. The merino wool is quite itchy for me though and the only way I'd be able to wear this is layering a tank underneath.  I don't mind the feel of wool on my arms and legs but I cannot stand that itch in my torso or chest and neck area. If you are sensitive to wool, this sweater will drive you crazy. I got this in my TTS 10 and I know a lot of people have preferred their size down in this but I think the sweater lays better being slightly oversized. It's not boxy and it has such a nice drape in the front that I'd hate to get rid of that to make it a more conventional looking sweater by sizing down.

Excuse my ratty hair. This is how I wear it to school pickup and drop off.

  1. LLM, I now have all 3 of these! I picked up the mink berry last night and paired it with the circadian mink berry and black striped T-shirt. With this combo I wear the sweater backwards so the criss cross is in the front. You might want to try it that way as it is very flattering. The wool for whatever reason doesn't bother me but I found the mink berry the scrachiest of the 3colours.....

    2. I also picked up the wine berry one. I wore it backwards today with a white Power Y underneath and the new WUP stirrup in the black/herringbone combo with short black booties. It made the perfect fall outfit and it looked and felt great! p.s.: these are my new favourite WUP. Love the mix of luon & luxtreme with the rouching on the back calf. (The luxtreme on the bum is so smoothing for the lumps and bumps)

    3. Forgot to add, since I bought all 3, I think I am going to pick up the sapphire twist WUP and pair it with the grey one....lol...

  2. Gah! I was hoping to read that you hated this. I didn't order it yet because I wasn't sure how thin it was, how much I'd like the holey weave fabric and if it was itchy or durable. Do you feel like it will lose its shape after wash?

    1. I plan on laying flat to dry because wool will shrink and loose shape if you put it in your dryer.

  3. Thank you so much for doing this! I have been debating ordering but I really don't want to order two sizes to try. This helped a ton! So what's your verdict on the mink berry? Any chance you will keep it?

    1. I'm pretty certain I'm keeping it although I do take the full two weeks to decide with everything. But I have outfits planned for this already. I'd like to pair it with my camo Hudson skinny jeans.

  4. Sorry one more question... Do u find the mink berry slightly sheer in front like it looks on model? I mean if u were just to wear a sports bra would your stomach show through? That type of thing?

    1. I didn't find it sheer but I was wearing a nude coloured bra underneath. If I was wearing stripes or black it may have shown through.

  5. I found this very scratchy when I tried it on; it was an easy pass for me. It was too boxy for me in both my TTS and size down; I'm short-waisted so I think it was just a bad design for me.

  6. Thank you for your honest review of its scratchiness. I am so glad that I passed on this. I was sooo tempted but saw wool and was like nope. I wish it were in Rulu!

  7. Thanks for the review. I was contemplating that sweater, but I'm super sensitive to "itchy" wool (some Merino items aren't too bad) but if this one is scratchy, it's a pass for me.

  8. Hey LLM - did you end up keeping this? And do you like it + wear it often?
