Upload!!

by Cristina

I’m really annoyed with the upload today. It’s a cumulative annoyance that has built up over the past few weeks but I’m seriously annoyed at the segregated upload items. The one item I wanted this week, the Go The Distance Jacket in Sapphire was only uploaded to the US side. Last week the Stress Less Hoodie was only uploaded to the US side but then a few days later appeared in Canadian stores. And the Herringbone Daily Practice Jacket uploaded to Canada weeks and weeks ago and it’s just now finally making it to the US.

Things that are interesting to me but I’m too annoyed to order: Coast Camo High Rise Wunder Under Crops, Heathered Bordeaux Cool Racerback, RULU Turn Around Tights.

What have you ordered today? Anything annoying you about the upload?

Kanto Catch Me Jacket (US/CAN)

Kanto Catch Me Vest (US/CAN)

Go The Distance Jacket (US only)

Kanto Catch Me 1/2 Zip (CAN)

Stress Less Hoodie (CAN)

Cool Racerback (CAN)

Wunder Under Crop High Rise (US/CAN)

Daily Practice Jacket (US)

Vent It Out Crop (US)

This photo is beyond disturbing

Kanto Catch Me LS (CAN/US)

Rest Less Pullover (CAN)

Turn Around Tight (CAN)

Personally not impressed with anything this week. My wallet is happy. 🙂

Have you tried the "Go the Distance" jacket yet Cristina? It is beautiful in sapphire, but the style is kind of weird. The back flap thing makes it look kind of like a cape in the back once you have it on 🙁

I tried it on today and didn't find it capey at all; maybe it's because I have broad shoulders. I liked it a lot; the only reason I didn't buy it is because I'm holding out for the Sapphire. I'll order it the second it's uploaded in Canada.

Did you size down when trying it on? Seems reviews are mixed on this so not sure which size to order. Thanks

Oh really? I don't think I would like that. I was hoping the weird cape would be low profile in person. So hard to tell from the online photos. My store never got any of the colors in (even the older neutral colors) so I haven't been able to try it on.

Crops crops crops crops crops. Blegh! It's fall (basically) – I want full length tights! Tempted a bit by the wee stripe speed IV tights, but I'm going to wait. Do those turn around tights look promising? Also disappointed the US didn't get the Kanto half zips – in spite of the weird seam under the bust, I was going to give it a shot.

I'm annoyed that last week they said they changed the prices because customers were confused about pricing…and yet this upload has the same type of pricing 88-98…& if its to make things easier then all crops would be 1 price and all pants would be 1 price..the pricing system is the same as a month ago, just 22% higher..remember the days when the WUC was $72- with a pattern, solid, or high rise, reflective, whatever *SE they did….the price was the same.
as an avid weekly Lulu buyer I haven't spent any money. They did nothing that justifies any of the price increases ..didn't even give us amazing colors..IMHO

I totally agree. I haven't purchased a thing since the new prices rolled out.

Reply
Anonymous September 16, 2015 - 2:30 am

Agree. It's insulting they would flat out lie about that.

Not surprised that they resorted to the price increases, given how the stock got pummeled last week after the released earnings and informed iinvestors that margins were declining. They gotta maintain those margins somehow….

By the way, has anyone ever tried the Run With Me gloves (rulu)? Are they worth getting or not warm enough to really bother?

Reply
Anonymous September 15, 2015 - 11:28 pm

Not super warm in my opinion! Depends on your climate. For me, they're only good to -10 (if that).

Sophie September 15, 2015 - 11:33 pm

Thanks! I imagine wind would cut right through them too. I think I'll wait and look for something more practical.

Rulu gloves are okay for the fall. Usually closer winter Lulu comes out with some sort of running mitten (I have a pair that are rulu gloves with a built in glyde (I think) mitten part that you can fold over your fingers for warmth or button back when you want something a bit cooler.)

Sophie September 16, 2015 - 1:54 am

Oh your glove/mitten sounds awesome. Hopefully they'll come out with something like that this year…one never knows!!

Nothing for me. Turned off by the pricing and the fact that the stuff I want is on the overseas uploads but not ours. I'm getting super picky now. It's good for my wallet I suppose!

Reply
Anonymous September 15, 2015 - 11:57 pm

Agreed… there are items that I would have typically purchased but with the price increases I just can't justify it anymore. It seems that items don't sell as quickly anymore so I don't mind waiting for them to hit WMTM..

I agree! Everything I want seems to be in the overseas uploads and hasn't made it to the U.S… I'm dissapointed almost every week lately 🙁

I ordered speed tight IV *brushed, just received speed tight IV yesterday but haven't removed tags yet, will likely keep the brushed and return the others. I also ordered the heathered bordeaux CRB and the herringbone neck warmer.

I wish the US got the ultra violet/deep navy pace rival crops that Canada got last week. I am trying to be patient waiting for them, but it's wearing thin!

However, I did get the green bean paisley speeds in the mail today from an eBay purchase and they are so cute! I like in Florida where it's speeds weather year round!

I agree with you LLM, I cant count the times this year that the only one item I wanted the US got and then it never came to Canada, or I had to wait 3-4 weeks. I also have been really dissatisfied with the price increases. I ordered the ultra violet High Times a couple of weeks ago then returned then when I realized they went up $10. That's just enough for me thanks. I have found myself really picky and will only buy if I feel it is a special piece. Some of their price increases are ridiculous. I am tempted to try the Kanto Jacket but I will do so if I have time this week in store as looking at the website photo's annoys me to the point that I don't buy anything…..

I feel the same way, I wait for certain items to upload and they never do to Canada.. I wonder what the rationale for the uploads are? Makes no sense, the price increases have made it hard for me to justify purchases as well, especially at over $120+ for a pair of pants!!

Anonymous September 16, 2015 - 1:28 am

Uh, did they hang that poor girl for that photo? Sick and wrong! That is not art.

Absolutely zero interest in anything. As others mentioned, the price changes really make me choosier with my purchases. And I'm not buying. The only semi-interesting thing is Coco Pique pants but I'd prefer High Times as WUPs are for Giants. I'd love the Rest Less LS that I stupidly returned last year. Do I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the return to the U.S., but you never know these days. Sigh.

I agree with all the other comments about the frustrating uploads Canada has been getting. I used to spend $200 every week but now I order next to nothing. Looking forward to the new brands Nordstrom has brought in for Canadian shoppers.

I just assumed the girl was jumping, but now you've mentioned hanging I can't get that idea out of my mind. God, how I despise these new photos. The designers say they're trying to create a "story" for each piece, but seriously, if I can't figure out the details of an item, I'm not going to order it to find out. Gah, their job is to SELL the stuff, not create obscure narratives.

Reply
Anonymous September 16, 2015 - 2:26 am

This is so annoying, I don't have any interest in trying to figure out a 'story' – I just want to clearly see what I may end up spending my money on! And I agree, I'm not going to take any chances on ordering to find out, if I can't tell from the photos then I'm not ordering.

I haven't ordered in weeks. So annoyed with Lulu. I did notice on the "what's new" page that I can no longer hover my mouse over the little boxes to see the color/pattern names. I have to actually go to the individual item pages to see the color names. I find this annoying.

I bought the cranberry weave WUP in the last photo. They run small, BTW. I'm usually between a 4 or 6, and I bought the 6.

I'm interested in these pants, just wondering if you have tried the WUC III in the Sapphire Twist – it's the same kind of pattern as these Cranberry WUP – and if they fit the same as those? I have the Sapphire Twist WUC III in my usual size 4 and they fit just right – wondering if the 4 in these would be the same or should I size up…

Reply
Heather Carmichael / Partial to Pink September 16, 2015 - 3:45 pm

Yes, I have those too. You're right, I have the size 4 in the Sapphire Twist WUC. For some reason, I thought the Cranberry fit smaller. I tried both sizes on in store yesterday, and there's no way I could buy the 4. I thought the pants fit tighter in the leg. Maybe if you have really thin calves they could work for you? Mine are on the athletic side.

That is a disturbing photo! Yikes!

I agree with everyone else – the website photos are annoying, the scattered uploads are beyond frustating, the ridiculous unjustified price increases, etc, etc. – for the first time since discovering Lulu years ago I'm losing interest and beginning to look into other brands.

I just placed my first order with Alala… Really looking forward to trying another brand and not having to deal with LLL. I'm so sick of their stupid website photos, price increases and cheap (scratchy) feeling fabric.

I have enough Lulu to last me a lifetime. In fact, I'm contemplating selling a lot of the stuff that gets relegated to the back of the closet and never worn. I also have the same beefs as the other commentators. The new style pictures (my God, that hanged girl is the limit), the segregated uploads, the technical glitches on the website and the oft-repeated patterns, colors and styles. What hurts me most is the stab in my wallet in the form of price increases. I guess all of us will get used to seeing these prices, and this is what LLL is counting on. But combining all of the above-mentioned factors, I'm just seriously turned off the brand. Kit and Ace has markdowns now, and I ordered my first item.

I bought the Cherry Cheetah Speeds, Heathered Bordeaux CRB and the Regal Plum Vinyasa.

The new web photos were a colossal mistake. I would not buy any new design based on what little I am seeing. Close-up, informative shots are essential for us who don't live close to a store. The new shots make all the product look very generic. The high prices are sobering, and are now at a point where buying another item seems irresponsible when I already have so many lulu items that perform well. It's not that I am switching brands, it's that lulu too pricy to remain a hobby and I'm not interested in buying more, not even at MD prices.

Agreed. I was at the outlet the other day and saw I dress that I thought was cute, but overpriced when it came out. I checke out the price– $9 less than it was 4 months ago. No wonder there was a whole rack of them. I laughed and left the store.

100% agree with the frustration at the segregated uploads. I pined after the toothpaste striped Flip Your Dog that only ever went to the US. Now I've been pleading with Lulu (in my head) to upload some of the new vinyasas in Canada, that uploaded to the US back in July. It seems to becoming the norm for Lulu – uploading to only a selection of their market. Is this yet another ploy to increase the value of items? Drives me crazy.

Although I've mostly weaned off LLL, there are still two crop/pants I'm looking for and if y'all could weigh in I'd greatly appreciate it: I missed the coco pique HTs and I'm no longer certain which high rise that I prefer – HT or WU high/roll down BECAUSE LLL has confused me with all the silly name changes! I *thought* I preferred HTs. I *think* the HTs stay put, and I *think* the WUP high rise slip a bit. Any thoughts?
I see that the coco pique WUP are not selling out overnight (unlike the coco pique HT).
What gives? Does everyone have last year's version? This year's sucks?
The second color-way I like is the wee are from space silver spoon. I bought the HTs SE (the rather sexy ones that sold in a nano second), loved the fabric & fit but realized I wouldn't wear them that much – regretfully I returned them betting on another pant coming out in the same print & fabric. Right now there are only the roll down crops online – which aren't selling.
Anyone have those? Thoughts?
Sorry for being off topic & longwinded. But this community is always so great with feedback & I'd greatly appreciate any input!
Like so many commented above, I agree so won't repeat. Other than to say, despite my desire for those two "last" (hahaha) neutral colored bottoms, LLL has gotten on my last nerve – most especially with the inconsistent sheerness factor. Some bottoms are great & then…..sheerness again! Sigh (of annoyance).
Thanking in advance y'all! 🙂

Personally, i do love the Coco Pique but I only every buy high waisted now. Either the High Times or the Roll Down/High Rise WU's. I have regular waisted ones from last year but because they are the lower rise I don't wear them and I couldn't justify getting a new pair this year. Material wise though this years version is the same as last years and if you like it, definitely get them.

Roll Down Crops, I love em! I wear my luon bottoms mostly for crossfit so I need them to be crops and not pants. I know other people really prefer pants though because they wear them casually and also to work out in but I really need them to be predominantly functional for workouts and I may just wear casually once or twice a season. My decision process for something I'm unsure of weather or not I will wear them often is they MUST be predominantly something I'd wear to workout in. The casual wear option is a bonus but they must be something I'd wear to crossfit. That goes for prints too. I may adore a print but if I'm too shy to wear it to crossfit then I shouldn't buy it just to wear for casual. Chances are I wont wear it casually either.

Off topic question but I have a gator green CRB that I only got Like 4 wears our of at the gym and the hem of it is unraveling like craxy argh. Can anyone explain the GEC to me? I know that many people get exchanges and returns when they have issues with their items. How do I go about it?

Reply
Anonymous September 18, 2015 - 9:18 pm

Go in store and they will exchange, repair, or offer some sort of refund/credit/switch if it's no longer in stock or if you aren't near a store call/email GEC and they will arrange a mail exchange or something. I live near many stores so I have never done that. But I did just exchange two damaged tank tops with zero problems.
